You'll need a valid driver's licence, a form of ID (national ID or passport), and a payment method. Diaspora visitors should carry their passport and home-country licence. An International Driving Permit is recommended for non-Zimbabwean licence holders.
We support secure online payments including USD card payments and mobile money (EcoCash, OneMoney). All transactions are processed through our encrypted platform before the trip begins.
Yes — ZimTravelBook supports both short-term and extended rentals. Contact the owner directly through the platform to arrange a longer-term booking and agree on a weekly or monthly rate.
ZimTravelBook operates on a full-to-full fuel policy. You receive the car with a full tank and return it full. If returned with less fuel, the difference is deducted from your deposit at the prevailing pump price.

Every vehicle on ZimTravelBook is comprehensively insured by the owner — this covers the car itself. This is not personal liability or accident cover for the renter. Renters are responsible for their own personal cover. If you are travelling from abroad, check whether your travel insurance includes personal liability for driving a rented vehicle.
Many owners offer airport delivery — you'll see this option on their listing. Simply select airport pickup when booking and confirm details with the owner.
Contact the car owner immediately through the platform. Owners are responsible for ensuring their vehicles are roadworthy. If a breakdown is due to a mechanical fault, ZimTravelBook will work with both parties to resolve the situation.
Yes, a refundable security deposit is required at booking. The amount varies by vehicle and is shown on each listing. It is returned within 3–5 business days after the trip, provided the car is returned in good condition with a full tank.
Cancellations more than 48 hours before the trip are fully refunded. Cancellations within 48 hours may incur a fee depending on the owner's policy shown on their listing.
You can arrange a trusted person to hand over the keys on your behalf. Just ensure they know the agreed checklist — fuel level, condition, mileage — and let the renter know in advance.
